Pub Grub - Barristers

With Januworry over, the ladies and I were still on a tight budget. We decided to check out Barristers.

The atmosphere is chilled and attracts the young and old

Located in Newlands, it does not look like your typical pub. They have a nice outside section and  a cosy inside one.

If you a smoker you might feel a tad ostracized sitting on a lonely bench outside away from the entrance.

The service started on bad note as we had to wait a while to get served.

We shared a mussel pot starter. The mussels were good but average. It was not the best we have had.

For mains they offer an affordable lunch specials for 50 bucks. The special runs 7 days a week from 11-6.

We had beef burgers with chips; chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and a garden salad and fried fish and chips.

For 50 bucks this grub fills you but does not amaze you.

The service improved through the day and we all seemed to have a good time none the less.
