Breakfast at the Mansions - Winchester Mansions
Early in the morning sitting underneath the palm trees in the lovely courtyard at Winchester Mansions in Sea Point. This was the venue for the champagne breakfast held for Aunty Bev's 50th birthday.
The atmosphere is peaceful with the sounds of the fountain and birds chirping.
We had the hotel style buffet breakfast with champers. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and I absolutely love buffet brekkies. So I was really excited and happy to say I was not left disappointed.
The service was good, out waiter constantly filling our coffee cups or bringing pots of tea and blessing us with her friendly personality.
The spread; theres almost everything one can think of having breakfast time - you really get your 135 Rands worth. Theres an extensive cheese board consisting of local and international cheeses, smoked salmon, and other cold tapas to go with health breads or crackers
A variety of seasonal fruits and cereals and yogurts is good starting point working your way to the hot plate. And with the hot breakfast- theres the bacon, sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomatoes and eggs done just the way you want.
You can also help yourself to a variety of juices or better yet add the juice to your champers and have a mimosa.
And if you want to round the meal off with something sweet you can choose your pick to some freshly baked croissants, pastries, muffins and scones.
Breakfast starts at 7:00am and you can eat up until 11.00
All in all I was impressed, lovely venue, delicious food and does not cut a hole in the wallet.
